If we left our own devices, people will find way to better versions of themselves andf better
society as whole given much freedom as possible

we have abundance of freedom but less security

-Society needs a limited government that serves to promote people’s life, freedom and property
Bcos to achieve seucirty, we must compensate some freedom
‘men all being naturally free equal, and independent, no-one can be deprived of this freedom..
and subjected to the political power of someone else, without his own consent. The only way
anyone can strip off his natural liberty and clothe himself in the bonds of civil society is for him
to agree with other men to unite into a community, so as to live togteher comfortably, safely, and
peaceably.

Natural rights will be enforeced by governemtn created with consent


Representative Democracy
In which people elect representatives that make laws and govern on their behalf.

Government only governs with the consent of the people, therefore, can be overthrown.
Role of the government is to protect rights to life, liberty, and property.
