Part-time Assistant Position

Northshore/Upcountry, Maui $20/hr, 19 hrs/wk

The assistant will work under the direction of the Executive Director, to help run
programs and assist with the needs of the organization. Successful candidates will have a
positive attitude & a desire to grow Maui into a more sustainable community and a
willingness to grow and learn about our organization and goals.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Harvesting, washing ,sorting, weighing, and distributing produce


● Recording and reporting data from harvests
● Assisting with administrative tasks
● Coordinating market connections or drop-off to community organizations
● Driving from site to site to harvest or deliver produce
● Managing volunteers when needed
● Cleaning and keeping tools in good working condition
● Interacting with customers and answering customer questions or concerns
● And may include other farming practices, installations, and maintenance for properties in the future

Job, Education and Skill Requirements


● High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
● Minimum of 3 years farming or landscaping experience in Maui County
● One (1) year proficiency with personal computers, google suites, and social media
● Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure
● Demonstrates good working relationships with customers and work cooperatively with a team
● A clean driving record
● Must have valid driver’s license and insurance
● Must have reliable transportation
● Must be legally able to work and provide necessary documents upon hire

Physical Requirements:

● Applicant must be in good health in order to perform farming and harvesting duties
● The ability to stand for long periods of time, twist, turn, stretch and bend with ease
● The ability to lift 25-70 lbs. regularly & move safely over uneven terrain while carrying 25-75 lbs.
● The ability to safely climb ladders while carrying 40 pounds
● The ability to work in extreme weather, & see and respond to dangerous situations
● The ability to use picker, shovel, dig, rake, etc.
● The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day

Administrative Assistant Position

the administrative side of programs and assist with the needs of the organization.
Successful candidates will have a positive attitude & a desire to grow Maui into a
more sustainable community and a willingness to grow and learn about our
organization and goals.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

● Scheduling appointments
● Social media and email content creation & management
● Volunteer Coordination
● Data entry
● Assistance with drafting reports
● Answering phones and emails
● Interacting with customers and answering customer questions or concerns
● Assistance with administrative tasks assigned by the Executive Director;
● and some light office cleaning

Minimum Job, Education and Skill Requirements


● High school diploma or equivalent
● Three (3) years proficiency with personal computers, google suites, and social media
● Must possess excellent communication and customer service skills
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure
● Demonstrates good working relationships with customers and work cooperatively with a team
● Must have reliable transportation
● Must be legally able to work in the US, and provide necessary documents upon hire.

Preferred Skill Qualifications:


● College courses or degrees in Marketing, Communications, Business or relevant fields.
● Excellent copywriting skills
● Experience in content creation (Text, Image & Video)
● Competency in Canva and Wix platforms
● Keyword research and online marketing channels
● Excellent Analytical and Multitasking skills
