The Benefits accompanied by being accredited by PhilHealth y The hospital will be published in the news/journal of PhilHealth y Improvement in quality in terms of patient care, service and facilities. y Increase in patient/client census. y Increase number of affiliating HMOs. Application for accreditation is the primary responsibility of the Hospital Administration. The Nursing Service s responsibility is to orient the nursing staff and personnel with the recommendations that the Accrediting Organization made such as quality of care rendered to patient and if there were any revision in the hospital s protocol or policies. It is also the responsibility of the nurse to ask the patient or relatives to fill up an evaluation form which includes comments and suggestions upon discharge. This form is attached and part of the patient s chart. Then, these forms will be tallied by the OIC and feedback will be relayed to proper authorities. PhilHealth conducts unannounced visits to audit the hospital and make sure that the institution is following the standards set. They review records and other documents and inspect the medical claims made by the hospital to the PhilHealth to make certain that it is appropriate with the billing of the patients. Also, they interview patients and inquire if the following is being done or explained: Quality nursing care Informing them of the Patient s Right Proper waste disposal Visiting time (9am-9pm) Patient and Family Education Orientation of Hospital set-up policies, procedure, and evacuation plan.
