An Effective Static Image

In an effective static image the different features such as layout, colour, use of contrast, symbols and
style of lettering combine to communicate ideas clearly. The following are questions that might
usefully be asked in a discussion on the effectiveness of a static image:

· What idea(s) are communicated?

· How does the organisation of the static image help us to know what is important?
· How does the style of lettering link to the other features such as layout?
· What mood/atmosphere does the use of colour and contrast suggest?
· How do the different features of the static image reinforce what is being communicated?
