D: It all began in Yungay, a beautiful town in the Andes. There lived the supreme god Inti with
his pretty daughter, Huandoy. Inti, wanted to find someone to marry whit Huandoy for
eternity, but not be just anyone; her future husband had to be like him, a god with powers.

A: One day, while Huandoy was walking through the town, she saw a man and immediately fell
in love. This handsome but poor man was named Huascaran. He was not a god and he did not
have much money, but he was brave and fearless.

B: When the princess saw that Huascarán was attractive and brave, she fell in love with him
too much. Fortunately, he also loved her and was very much in love with Huandoy. Next, they
were seeing each other in secret, because they knew that the god Inti would not like they
relationship.

C: Suddenly, one day like any other, the princess's father found out and definitely did not
accept his daughter's relationship with Huascaran. For this reason, Inti asked her daughter to
not marry whit Huascaran. But they wanted to fight for their love and stay together.

D: Unfortunately, Huandoy's father decided to separate them forever.

A: Yes, after that, Huandoy and Huascaran, began to feel a lot of pain in their bodies, while
they saw how their muscles were gradually filled with earth and then they became two big
mountains.

B: Finally, the god Inti covered them with snow to extinguish the flame of their love and
created a deep valley between them so that they would never get together.

C: Some people say that the Huandoy and Huascarán snow-capped mountains cry for long
periods of time because they cannot be together. Their tears, turned into ice, descend the
entire mountain range to unite in a turquoise lagoon known as Llanganuco.
