Monologue:

My name is Charles Darnay. I am a French aristocrat by birth,

and I choose to live in England because I couldn’t bear to be
associated with the cruel injustices of the French social system.
I have got into court cases. Firstly, I have tried as a traitor to the
English crown. Then I have tried as a traitor to the French
Republic. If that weren’t enough, I had re-tried in France on the
same charges. During this trials, I meet and marry Lucie
Manette. I went to France to help Tellson’s bank. Then I
pretended to take a letter to the Marquis Evremonde. I also
received a letter from a family employee Gabelle. In the letter
she asked for my help to go to Paris and speak for her. I knew
that I have to go, so I went but in secret. On my way to Paris
the things did not go as I wanted. I had difficulty getting in.
After all I got in, I was surprised at the attitude of the people of
Paris. I met large number of prisoners. I was locked away in the
prison at La Force. Sydney changed places with me on the night
before my execution. Finally, I decided to head back to French.
