Describe the situation in France and England in 1775:

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times in London and Paris. It was the
age of wisdom, it was the age of stupidity, it was the age of light, it was the
season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. The
people in London and Paris had everything to look forward to, they had nothing
to look forward to. They were going directly to Heaven, they were all going
directly the other way.” This paragraph describes a part of the situation in London
and Paris. The days in London and Paris were very weird. A letter from Tallson’s
Bank started the whole doom.

2nd Question
What do you think “Recalled to life” means?
This phrase means that the life of someone or something came back. For
example, in our story the young lady realized that her father is alive. Somehow
her father's life came back to her.

Who is Miss Manette?

Miss Manette or Lucie Manette is a young French woman who grow up in

England. She was raised as a ward of Tallson’s Bank because her parents were
assumed to be dead. Her love has the power to bind her family together. Her love
was the power to transform those around her.
