Dear Dr. Sanchez,

Recently, I e-mailed one of your Center for Academic Program Support staff regarding a lack of
access to your program during the summer semester. Kyle, your Student Success Supervisor,
recommended that I contact you regarding the situation.

Here is what happened. I enrolled in Organic Chemistry during the summer semester. Because of
the fast-paced curriculum due to the condensed eight-week course, many students including
myself, requested additional help from tutors offered through your program.

We were notified that your program is not available during the summer semester, therefore we
would have to receive tutoring elsewhere. Many students paid a significant amount of money for
outside tutoring, whereas your program is free for students during the fall and spring semesters.

Having the Center for Academic Program Support available to students throughout the entire
year, to include the summer semester, would greatly benefit students by improving their
academic performance. This program would also be very beneficial for students who cannot
otherwise afford tutoring outside of UNM.
