Research and Form A Report On Perseverance Mars Rover
Worksheet 1
Class: IV-C
Research and form a report on perseverance Mars Rover, latest NASA project. The report should include
• What has been the most interesting fact about Mars you have come across so far?
NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is an American space agency which main
objective is to explore the space and other objects in space. As we know that our solar system consist on
sun, eight planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune) and five dwarf
planets (Pluto, Ceres, Makemake, Huamea, Eris) so far as we know. Our neighbor planet are Venus and
Mars. Venus is too hot to not inhabitant for human life. Mars is other option and is considered next in
category. There are many programs run to find life on mars. In those missions include Mariner 1, 2, 3, 4,
6, 7, 8, 9, Mars Observer, Mars Pathfinder, Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Climate Observer, Mars Polar
Lander/ Deep Space 2, 2001 Mars Odyssey, Mars Express (ESA), Mars Exploration Rover Spirit, Mars
Exploration Rover Opportunity, Mars Phoenix, Curiosity Rover, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, Maven,
ExoMars 2016 Mission (ESA/ Roscosmos), Insight Lander, ExoMars 2022 Rover (ESA/ Roscosmos), Mars
Sample Return and Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover.
In all those missions rover has unique importance. Perseverance Mars Rover can move and search at its
own (first 3600 view of mars, dual-camera system equipped with a zoom function, take high-definition
video, panoramic color and 3D images). The robotic astro-biologist can provide a detailed examination
of both close and distant objects. It launched at July 30, 2020 and landed on Mars on Feb 18, 2021. Its
main objective is to seek signs of ancient life and collect samples of rock and regolith (broken rock and
soil) for possible return to Earth.
The confirmation that liquid water once flowed on Mars, the existence of nutrients, and the previous
discovery of a past magnetic field that protected the planet from cosmic and solar radiation, together
strongly suggest that Mars could have had the environmental factors to support life.
Reasons for colonizing Mars include curiosity, the potential for humans to provide more in-depth
observational research than unmanned rovers, economic interest in its resources, and the possibility
that the settlement of other planets could decrease the likelihood of human extinction.
8. In the early space age, we thought mars was like the moon
