CONSUMER EDUCATION: This help us to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be an informed
consumer.
INFORMATION: This gives us the right to know the facts that we need in order to make choices in
purchasing product or services and protect ourselves against dishonest or misleading advertisement.
BASIC NEEDS: One of the eight universally recognized right of the consumers is the right to satisfaction
of basic needs, this means that every consumer has the right to basic goods and services that guarantee
survival. This right includes adequate foods, clothing, shelter, health care, education, water and
sanitation.
SAFETY: Safety provides us the right to be protected against the hazardous products and services
purchased in the market place.
CHOOSE: The right to choose allows us to have the freedom in consuming our basic necessities as well
as our desires, this gives us consumers a satisfaction in choosing what we need to survive.
REDRESS: You have the right to receive compensation for misrepresentation subpar products or subpar
services. If you’ve purchased a faulty item, you can return to the store, look for the consumer welfare
desk, and ask for a replacement, refund, or product repair.
REPRESENTATION: This is right to express your interest as a consumer in the making and execution of
government policies.
HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT: This is your right to live and work in an environment that is neither
threatening nor dangerous but rather permits a life of dignity and well-being.
