Good morning ladies and gentleman, teachers and friends.

My name is
__________ and I am from class ______. Today I would like to talk about
childhood obesity.

Childhood obesity can be caused by an unhealthy diet of too much food which
is high in fats and sugar. For example like burgers with cheese or pizzas with
extra pepperoni. A lack of physical activity like not exercising also causes
childhood obesity. Sometimes childhood obesity happens because a person’s family
has a history of being overweight. This is more to a genetic problem but it doesn’t
mean that a person can’t escape the obesity genetic trait.

Overall, these can have serious effects on health and may cause heart
problems or high blood sugar. Being obese also leads to self-esteem issues as a
person may be teased because of their weight. Many cases of bullying are about a
person’s appearance. Therefore, we must take steps to lead a healthy life to
prevent childhood obesity.

Taking simple steps like reducing sugar in everyday life seems simple but it
can help with obesity problems. Taking a 30 minute jog each day also helps in
reducing risks of childhood obesity. If you feel like moving with music, you can
take up aerobics or zumba. There are plenty of classes out there for you to
participate in.

Working towards a healthy life is not easy but it is doable if you set your
mind to it. Childhood obesity hurts more than any other disease as it can be
prevented at an earlier stage.

I hope you have learned something from listening to me today. Thank you
very much.
