POSITION TITLE: IT Support Specialist Dublin REPORTS TO: European Information Technology Lead
Introduction.
The Dublin Waste to Energy project is a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between Dublin City Council and
Covanta, a world leader in sustainable waste management and renewable energy solutions, to build, own and
operate a new 600,000 metric tonne per year, 58 net megawatt Energy-from-Waste facility in Dublin. The
facility will provide the Dublin region with a long-term sustainable and environmentally superior waste
management solution, enabling it to divert post-recycled waste from landfills and become locally self-sufficient
in managing waste, consistent with regional, national and EU waste policies.
IT Support Specialist
As Covanta Europe begins an accelerated global project to demerge from Covanta US the position of IT
Support Specialist Dublin has arisen. This role is located in Dublin Ireland and will report to the European IT
Lead. This position will serve as the onsite IT support lead over an initial period of 12 months however may
extend longer. This is an excellent opportunity to gain key experience in an enterprise technology demerger
that will see the implementation and migration of ERP, EAM, WAN and LAN technology and also data
integration. Key responsibilities include working with the Covanta Europe and US teams to support the local
engineering and business teams and also support the European Project team during cutover and stand-up of
essential technology services. Ongoing responsibilities include general support for the local Covanta staff as
well as providing remote support for IT operations based in the UK. Key technologies include voice/data
networks, Windows Server, desktop and applications, security management technologies and meeting room
and audio-visual equipment.
This individual will work with the Datacenter Operations, Engineering, Network and the Global Helpdesk teams
to ensure project, operational incidents and support requirements are addressed. This individual also acts as
the point of escalation for local Covanta leadership and staff located at the Dublin site.
Supporting the senior IT Leadership providing business as usual support to the local Dublin team
Point of contact for IT requirements during the carve out project
In close collaboration with IT management and the local staff ensures network, desktop and
mobile services are supported and implemented according to plan
Assists with the implementation, testing and production release of IT infrastructure and services
Re-imagining of desktop clients and migration to new domain
