The Board Lot table
The Board Lot table guides you with the minimum number of
shares that you can buy or sell. Minimum board lots are
determined by the market price of a stock.
www.colfinancial.com 7
The Board Lot table
For example:
You would like to buy stock ABC, which is currently priced at ₱550 per share.
First thing to do is to check the price range column. In this example, stock
ABC falls within the ₱500 – ₱999.50 range.
Next, check the board lot column to see how many shares you should buy at
the minimum. In this case, you need to buy at least 10 shares of stock ABC.
As a savvy investor, you may want to buy at a lower price. This is when you
should look at the tick size. For this example, if you want to buy stock ABC for
a cheaper price, you may bid at a lower price by increments of ₱0.5 like:
₱549.50, ₱549.00, ₱548.50… and so on.

You currently have 1,000 total shares of Stock A and you decided that you
want to sell 200 shares. Once you post the sell order, the 200 shares will be
