Project activity 4 evidence 4: Establish the characteristics of the supply chain

actors according to management strategies and business policies.

Saying what your role is

The example that I am going to use for the development of the evidence is:

Supply chain objective

The main objective of the supply chain is to satisfy the needs of the end
customer in the best possible way. The foregoing includes the following
purposes:

* Deliver goods and services on time.

* Avoid unnecessary losses or losses.

* Optimize distribution times.

* Proper inventory and warehouse management.

* Establish adequate communication and coordination channels.

* Cope with unforeseen changes in demand, supply or other conditions.

Activities in the chain

The supply chain is not always the same, its form and the activities it includes
depend on the good or service that we are analyzing. In some situations, certain
production, purchase or distribution operations will be required. But sometimes
only some of these processes will be required.

In any case, regardless of the specific form of the supply chain, there are
certain activities that are common and necessary to optimize the bottom line.
These are:

*Planning..

* Stock management.

* Purchase order processing.

* Transfers and dispatch.

* Monitoring and control of unforeseen events.

* Customer service.

* Warranty administration.

* Payment processing.

My example of a car supply chain is as follows:

* First of all, it is necessary to extract the necessary raw materials to be able to

build the materials that it includes. These raw materials would be oil for plastic,
steel, iron, aluminum, etc.

* Second, the raw materials are transported to the place where the parts will be
created. The oil will be turned into plastic and the dashboards, seat adjustment
levers, gearbox fabrication and other vehicle components will be shaped.

*Once all the necessary parts for the construction of the car have been
manufactured, it is time to assemble it. The pieces will be transported to the car
manufacturing plant, in this place each of the pieces will be assembled so that
the car is ready for marketing.
* In fourth position, the car will be transported to the dealer where it will be sold.
There it will be put on display for potential customers to see.

* Finally, when a customer has decided to buy it, all the necessary procedures
will be carried out to put it into circulation and it will be delivered to the
customer.

Giving solution to the problem we have:

In the first place, the role that in this example can collaborate with the client to
provide a timely solution would be the sales area.

The customer is contacted, his data is requested and in a brief way he is asked
to give us his story about the problem that afflicts him when buying our product,
we gather the evidence and we have two solution options:

1. If the quality problem to which the client refers is due to bad handling, or due
to ignorance of it, we would have to not give the guarantee.
2. But if, on the other hand, when making the necessary revisions and all the
tests indicate that in fact the product has flaws in terms of its quality, we would
refund the money to the customer and offer him a bonus for the inconvenience
caused.
3. As for the person in charge in our supply chain, which in this case would be
the quality control area, we would have to audit them to verify that the work in
this area is developing in the best way, and find a solution that favors us all.
4. Then you are in frequent contact (customer service area) with the customer
to give a prompt solution to their disgust
