Description
metal solids
Made up of metal atoms that are held
together by metallic bonds. Characterized
by high melting points, can range from
soft and malleable to very hard, and are
good conductors of electricity.
Metallic Bonds
Is defined as the force of attraction
that binds metal cations to a number
of mobile or delocalized electrons
within the sphere of influence wich
holds the metallic cations together in a
definite pattern
MAIN CHARACTERISTICS
1 They possess high melting and boiling points

2 They show high thermal conductivity

They are malleable and ductile
3
They show high electrical conductivity
4
Examples
