Cave People Painted and People There are cave paintings in caves in many different countries. Cave people painted pictures of the animals that they hunted. Cave people hunted mammoth, tigers and bears. They painted the pictures inside their caves. Sometimes the cave people painted the animals upside down to show that the animals were dead. They made their paint from different plants to make green, yellow, and brown. They kept their paint in animal bones. They painted their pictures before and after a big hunt. Cave people hunted together in a big group. They put animal fat on their bodies. The fat helped keep themselves warm and it was difficult for the animals to hold them. They also used the animal fat for lights in the night. They made terrible sounds that frightened the animals. The animals went into the river or sometimes they went over the big cliff. The cave people killed the animals with spears. They like to eat the soft part first (the liver and the brain) and then they cooked the body of the animal. They used the skins to make clothes.
