A feedline check valve at the bearing point is recommended and is available aban accessory item 44) Refill the lubricator reservoir and adjust the pump output, SETTING PUMP OUTPUT Count the number of drops falling through the sight-eed glas in one minute, Set the adjusting sleeve to obtain the Gesired quantity and secure the setting with the locknut. Conversion factors: 1 drop = 002 cu in 300 drops = 1 eu. in AIRLOCK Aitlocking occurs when sit, instead of ol, enters the plunger bore and can’t be compressed to s high enough pressure to be forced out of the pump against the feediine backpressure Airlocking is caused either by entrained air being separated from the oll by the vacuum in the sight feed, or, by air ‘entering the pump when the oil evel in the lubricator reservoir is lower than the suction tube inlet, An airlock can be ‘cuily detected since, when i occurs, no oil wll be visible in the sight(eed {An airlock ean be eliminated by re-illing the lubricator reservoir, loosening the feedline union atthe pump outlet, and ‘manually operating the pump with the priming stem until no air bubbles appear at the pump outlet OvERFILL Overfilng is caused by the ol abso ng the air in the sight-feed as it pases through the pump, This conditon doesn't affect the operation of the pump except that the oil can't be observed coming out of the sight feed nozzle due tothe sight-feed glass being Filled with of Notmal sighted operation can be restored by momentarily loosening the nozzle plug assembly at the op of the sight {eed to break the vacuum wilhin the sight-feed. Unserew end bearing from end of reservoir. Loosen set screws holding 69914 Cam Lobes and 15425 Stop Colla to camshaft ‘Slide each cam cler ofits wood key and remove keys, Rotate camshaft until 68220 Woodruff Key of eam lobe at drive end of shaft align with keyway in center bearing. Pll camshaft through end bearing opening in reservoir until shaft is clear of drive bracket. Unscrew 92865 Stuffing Box Assembly and withdraw 18885 Drive Shaf with 69001 Thrust Bearings and 16271 Worm, ‘Nove number and location of shims on drive shat. Unscrew the 80762 Socket Head Screws holding 92872 Drive Bracket Asser- bly to reservoir and remove assembly. Slide 48560 Washer end 16417 Spur Gear from camshaf, remove woodrulf key and slide second 48660 Washer from shaf, then remove 68556 Retaining Ring. Withdraw camshaft from reservoir leaving top collar nd cam lobes loose in reservoir. Remove 68559 Retaining Rings and 48639 Washers from each ond of 15364 Spur Gear Shaft, Slide gears from shaft. remove (68220 Woodruff Keys and other 48599 Washers from spur gear shaf, then withdraw shaft from drive bracket assembly ‘Loosen 50555 Set Screw holding 15275 Worm Gear to 18363 Worm Gear Shaft, Note number and location of shims on worm gear shaft. Move worm gear clear of 68220 Woodruff Key and remove key. Withdraw worm gear shaft enough to allow removal of 48599 Washer and 69989 Spur Geer. Remove woodrutf key, second 48539 Washer, 68559 Retaining Ring and worm gear, then ‘withdraw worm gear shaft. Toassemble, reverse disassembly procedure LINCOLN ST.
