Monkey
Monkey Story
Level I: Monkey Strolls
Level II: Monkey Turns to Look at the Moon
Level III: Monkey Picks Fruit
Level IV: Monkey Serves Fruit

The Monkey is related to the Wood Element and is connected with anger. The playfulness of the mon-
key can transform even the angriest people. In Level I, the Monkey decides to go for a stroll. After
strolling for a while, he turns to look at the beautiful moon in Level II. Feeling hungry, he decides to
pick some fruit and eat it in Level III - Monkey Picks Fruit. After filling his belly, he serves the fruit to
his family in Level IV - Monkey Serves Fruit.

It is important to try to have these feelings in each form. In Level III, you want to actually feel like
you are picking fruit and eating it. Try to imagine the flavor. This will get your saliva flowing, which
is considered the Golden Elixir in Qigong. By swallowing this Golden Elixir, you will gain all the
benefits of the Golden Elixir (see section on Golden Elixir). In the last level, feel the satisfaction and
happiness of serving fruit to your family.

Balancing the Emotions of the 5 Elements

The monkey is related to the wood element.
Wood is related to the emotion of anger.

The twisting in Level II of the Monkey gets a

nice compression, followed by expansion of
the sphere that the liver and spleen reside
in. Not only do some of the movements of
the Monkey target the liver, but the character
and spirit too. The playfulness of the monkey
relieves anger from the liver. Playfulness and
cunning relieve anger from the liver. Who can
be angry when they are playful? Someone
who is cunning does not have to be angry;
they focus their energy into intelligence -
they will find a way. Be light like a child, and
playful.

ment with stability.

the inner and outer body fascial connections. It aids in a gentle
