Infants Limitations:

This is determined on each aircraft type and is determined by the


quantity of
Child Restraints , Infant Flotation Aids , Drop- down Oxygen Masks

Infants Limitations according to the aircraft type:


Note1
In exceptional circumstances these numbers can be increased provided
additional equipment (Seat belt and life vest).

Note2
The increase of infant’s numbers is subject to the approval of the
Station Manager in-coordination with the Maintenances company.

If the customer not reached his second birthday Child Restraints


system should be provided by his parents themselves, as this facility is
Not available on EGYPTAIR fleet.

Infants travelling on a car seats


 Infant car seats can be used for infants between the ages of 6
months and 2 years.
 Infants using a car seat must pay the appropriate Child fare and
will be recorded as a child in the passenger figures.
 The car seat must:-
1) Be pre-boarded and secured to the aircraft seat before the infant
is seated.
2) Be fixed on a seat adjacent to the Windows (A or K seats).
3) Not be fixed in any row, adjacent to, behind or in front of an
Emergency exit seats.
4) Be in the upright position for all occasions when the seat belt
sign is illuminated.
5) At least one seat adjacent to the child must be occupied by a
physically able person, of Not less than 16 years, who is
responsible for the occupant of the car seat.
6) They must have an federal aviation administration “ FAA”
approved label attached.

PRMs Requiring Medical Clearance

Passengers with reduced mobility “ PRM ”


Passengers with reduced mobility who due to their Physical, Medical or
Mental condition requires individual attention during embarkation,
disembarkation, flight emergency evacuation and during ground
handling that is normally not extended to other Normal passengers.

 PRM categories requiring medical Clearance are defined as follows:


1) Customers suffering from any disease, which is believed by
EGYPTAIR office/Agent or medical authority to be actively
contagious and communicable.
2) Prior arrangement is mandatory through reservation, against an
SSR MEDA.
3) Can be considered objectionable to the other customers because
of Physical Or Behavioral condition.
 Medical Information Form “MEDIF” is an IATA
standard Form used to assess Passengers Requiring Assistance.
 Information sheet for customer requiring special assistance that is
completed by the sales office and :
 If only special handling arrangement are required, MEDIF
Attachment A only shouldAttachment B by the sales office,
be completed
Travel Agent or the customer, in-order to provide such details to
the concerned departments such as public relations , maintenance
… etc. to act accordingly.
 Information sheet for customer requiring Medical clearance in two
parts ( 1 & 2 ) to be completed by the customer physician.
 If Attachment B part (1&2) are required , the Form with
Attachment A completed is given to the customer physician
inorder to be completed and given back to the sales office / travel
agent in contact with the customer in-order to inform the
concerned departments to act accordingly.

Ticketing & Finalization

The sales office after receiving the filled Forms from the customer will:

 Inform the customer of the conditions of travel according to his


case.
 Inform all concerned departments such as Public Relations ,
Station ….etc.
 If there is any onward connection for the customer , the sales
office will transmit the information to each carrier in-route.

Note:
 Arrangements for hospitals , ambulances … etc. shall be made by
the customer or his physician and only after All air travel
arrangements have been finalized.
 Sales office / SOCC shall send all details including Ambulance
contact numbers to Oversees Station Managers.
 The sales office after receiving the filled Forms from the customer
will:
 Issue the tickets and make reservations with respective
confirmed (HK) SSR MEDA for all travel segments as per
each case.
 Collect any service charges required in Form of EMD.
 The sales office after receiving the filled Forms from the customer

a) Issue the tickets and make reservations with respective

b) Collect any service charges required in Form of EMD.

Customers with leg(s) in cast

 Adult customers travelling with lower limbs in a cast(s) (i.e. full


leg plaster, or fused knee), must purchase two seats
 This will enable the limbs to be elevated during the flight and
reduce swelling.
 Customers travelling with a lower leg in plaster may only
require one seat, however MEDIF and SSR MEDA are also
required.
 Customer with stiff legs, broken legs in plaster casts, paralysis
etc. should be accommodated in seats allowing the maximum
space for their comfort, or space for leg support devices with
the least possible disturbance to customers in adjacent seats
 Limbs in plaster casts should Not obstruct the aisle or
Emergency exits
Note:
Such customers may Not be accepted in business class area as seats
are not designed for full break-over, and leg rests must be reclined,
and full flat beds must be in the upright positions during takeoff and
landing.

Customers Requiring Medical clearance

Customers Requiring Oxygen (AOXY)

 Oxygen tubes supplied for customers traveling either seated or


on stretchers and need oxygen during the flight (only to be
used in conjunction with SSR code MEDA.
 Air Carrier Owned Oxygen Supply (AOXY), (In-flight Only).
 The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority (ECAA) requires that
oxygen on airplanes be dispensed from approved containers
available through the airline only.

AOXY Acceptance & Procedures

 The Flight Controller will check and review the flight for
any booked AOXY or MEDA customer.
 If found the Flight Controller will allocate seat in the AFT
area.
 The Flight Controller will take all required co-ordination
procedures with the different departments such as public
relations , Maintenance …. Etc.
 The Flight Controller will check and review the flight for
any booked AOXY or MEDA customer.
 The Check-in agent will complete the check-in procedures after
verifying the medical certificate ( MEDIF A & B ) .
 The Check-in agent will hand over all the documents to the PR
agent to complete all the formalities and accompany the customer
to the gate and then to the aircraft.
 The PR officer or the handling agent will deliver the boarding pass
to the CDC when boarding the aircraft with a copy from the
MEDIF.
 The Load controller when notified by the maintenance will add
Special load OXY including weight and location to be appear on the

load-sheet and must be inserted in the LDM as SI to notify the PIC.


 The Flight Controller must ensure that all post departure
messages are sent “ PSM ”

Customers Requiring Medical clearance

Personal Portable Oxygen Concentrators (PPOC)

 Customers needing medical oxygen can travel on


EGYPTAIR Airlines using approved Portable Oxygen
Concentrator “ POC ” during all phases of flight, provided
the conditions listed below are met:

Seating • Stored under the seat in-front of the customer.

Ticketing • Normal ticket for the customer


• Required
• The customer must be capable of hearing the portable
MEDIF oxygen
and be able to take appropriate action in response to
these
warnings, or travel with a companion capable of doing so.
• The PPOC must have a label attached indicating that it
has
Acceptance been for approved for use in the aircraft.
• PPOC and their supplemental batteries are permitted In-
Addition to the carry-on baggage allowance.
• The customer must place the extra batteries in the carry-on
baggage and must pack it in a manner that protects them from
damage.
• The customer is fully responsible for his PPOC and must have a
sufficient
number of fully charged batteries to cover no less than 1.5 times of
Batteries the
expected maximum flight duration which is based on the scheduled
flight
time and factors such as weather conditions, traffic delays and
other
conditions that may delay travel.

NOTOC • Required to notify the captain with the lithium battery.

Note:
 If connecting to another airline or code-share Flight,
customers must contact the operating Carrier or other airline
for their rules on traveling with portable oxygen concentrators.

Continuous Positive Air Pressure (CPAP)


 Continuous Positive Airway Pressure “ CPAP ” is a form of
positive airway pressure ventilator, which applies mild air
pressure on a continuous basis to keep the airways continuously
open in a patient who is unable to breathe spontaneously on his
or her own. CPAP typically is used for people who have breathing
problems, such as sleep apnea
 Note:
 If connecting to another airline or code-share flight, customers
must contact the operating carrier or other airline for their rules on
traveling with continuous positive air pressure

• A MEDIF is required due to pressure changes
and CPAP might Not operate efficiently during a
MEDIF
flight and we would need to make sure that it has
been certified for use in the aviation environment.
• The CPAP must have a label attached indicating
that it has been for approved for use in the aircraft.
Acceptance The CPAP and their supplemental batteries are
permitted in-addition to the carry-on baggage
allowance.
• The CPAP needs to be switched off and stowed
Safety for taxi , take off ,landing and during abnormal or
emergency situation.
• The customer must place the extra batteries in the
carry-on baggage and must pack it in a manner that
protects them from damage.
• The customer is fully responsible for his CPAP and
must have a sufficient number of fully charged batteries

Stretcher Case “ STCR ”


 Customer must contact the sales office for reservation at least 48
hours -STD.
Selling office shall send a Sita message or e-mail to
Maintenance and Loading Department and a copy to PR,
SOCC and Outstation in advance in following
addresses:

a) Medical clearance and special arrangements are
made.
b) Oxygen can be provided upon request against
