2. InteliCompact NT (MINT)
Compatibility for InteliCompact NT is secured from firmware version 2.5.1
Compatibility for MainsCompact NT is secured from firmware version 2.0.0

Compatibility Sheet 5
3. Common Prerequisites
Controllers are not compatible in shared signals neither binaries nor analogues. Therefore,
any common signal for instance LBO Sys Start/Stop must be wired on binary input of the controller.
Any InteliGen 200 controller can be exchange for InteliGen 500.

3.1. IGXXX Distributed power management signals

Sharing of multiple built in Logical Binary Input (LBI) functions is critical for power management
system operation, because several power management functionalities require simultaneous
activation of LBI functions in controllers, which are involved in power management operation. It can
be done either automatically using CAN2 bus link between controllers or using dedicated LBI
functions and hard wired.
These LBI functions are shared automatically:
System Start/Stop
Note: InteliMains controller activates the System Start/Stop signal in case of all system activations (e.g. AMF,
TEST Mode,…).

Compatibility Sheet 7
4.1.2. Application diagram

*SHBIN/OUT are only available for InteliGen-NT, InteliSys-NT and InteliMains-NT controllers

4.1.3. Application description

The IM-NT controller opens MCB after the mains fails or after the gen-sets are running according
to setpoint AMF settings: MCB opens on.
The IM-NT controller closes binary output Sys start/stop which is connected to Sys start/stop
inputs of the gen-set controllers if:
If IM-NT binary input Rem start/stop gets active (AUT mode only).
If AMF condition is sensed in IM-NT and the gen-set group should be started as stand-by
power source (AUT mode only).
If Peak Shaving function senses that it is suitable to start the gen-set group to lower the mains
import (AUT mode only).

Compatibility Sheet 8
If Start button is pressed on IM-NT front panel or remotely (MAN mode only). The signal can
be deactivated by pressing the Stop button. If the controller is switched from AUT to MAN
mode, the internal status of the flip-flop circuit created by Start-Stop buttons is set to follow
the previous state in AUT mode. E.g. if the gen-set group has run in an AMF situation in AUT
mode, switching to MAN will not stop it (= Sys start/stop output stays active).
After binary input Sys Start/Stop closes the gen-sets are starting with a delay SysAMFstrtDel. It
is like setpoint EmergStart del in SPtM application. The first set with a correct voltage and
frequency closes the GCB to the dead bus, others are synchronized.
When the mains return, IM-NT synchronizes gen-sets to the mains with limitations given by
setpoints Process Control: Parallel Enable and Synchro enable

Compatibility Sheet 9
4.2. InteliMains 210 MCB

4.2.1. Specification
Automatic gen-set start when the mains fails (LBI Sys Start/Stop is closed)
MCB controlled by IM210
Break transfer on mains failure
MCB synchronizing after mains return
Power management (load dependent start and stop)
Sets’ priority can be defined manually or automatically based on running hours equalization or
load demand (most efficient combination)
Load sharing and VAR sharing
Gen-sets soft loading and unloading
Voltage matching
Reverse power protection
MGCB support – setpoint Application Mode Select offers also MGCB app

*Built-in distributed signals available only for InteliGen 200, InteliMains 210 and InteliGen 500

4.2.3. Application description

The IM210 controller opens MCB after the mains fails or after the gen-sets are running according
to setpoint Mains settings: AMF settings: MCB opens on.
The IM210 controller closes binary output Sys start/stop which is connected to Sys start/stop
inputs of the gen-set controllers if:
If IM210 binary input Rem start/stop gets active (AUT mode only).
If AMF condition is sensed in IM210 and the gen-set group should be started as stand-by
power source (AUT mode only).
If Peak Shaving function senses that it is suitable to start the gen-set group to lower down
the mains import (AUT mode only).

Compatibility Sheet 11
If Start button is pressed on IM210 front panel or remotely (MAN mode only).
After binary input Sys start/stop closes the gen-sets are starting with a #System Start Delay. It
is like setpoint Emergency Start Delay del in SPTM application. The first set with a correct
voltage and frequency closes the GCB to the dead bus, others are synchronized.
When the mains return, IM210 synchronizes gen-sets to the mains with limitations given by
setpoints Load control: Load Transfare: Transfer Bus to Mains and SoftTransf

Group Link function is connected to BI: BTB Feedback in IM-NT controller

4.3.2. Application diagram

*SHBIN/OUT are only available for InteliGen-NT, InteliSys-NT and InteliMains-NT controllers

Compatibility Sheet 13
4.3.3. Application description
Standard Power management setpoints and values are included in BTB application for compatibility
purposes and InteliMains NT BTB does not play active role in power management. Nonetheless,
InteliMains NT BTB plays crucial role in Control Group functions – it performs synchronization of the
Control Groups together (based on Process Limitation). In connection to this, LBI: GroupLink function
may be performed by InteliMains NT BTB. This function broadcasts information about the connection
of two groups together via CAN to all other controllers. Two connected groups are considered as
one group by all other controllers. The diagram shows how the principle of the function works. Once
Group 3 is connected to the Group 2, it is also considered connected to the Group 1 because the
connection of Group 1 and Group 2 is also broadcasted on the CAN2.
Synchronization Enable NONE - It is not possible to synchronize Buses together if there are
healthy voltages on both buses
Synchronization Enable L->R - It is possible to synchronize Buses together if there are healthy
voltages on both buses and the Left Bus is available for synchronizing (i.e. the synchronization
will not be successful if Left Bus is connected to the Mains)
Synchronization Enable R->L - It is possible to synchronize Buses together if there are healthy
voltages on both buses and the Right Bus is available for synchronizing (i.e. the synchronization
will not be successful if Right Bus is connected to the Mains)
Synchronization Enable BOTH - It is possible to synchronize Buses together if there are healthy
voltages on both buses (the controller will synchronize Left Bus to the Right Bus if the Left Bus
is not connected to the Mains, if Left Bus is connected to the Mains, controller synchronizes Right
Bus to the Left Bus)
DeadBusClosing NONE - It is not possible to close the breaker if there is healthy voltage on
one of the Buses and there is no voltage on the other one or if there is no voltage on both Buses
DeadBusClosing L->R - It is possible to close the breaker if there is healthy voltage on the Left
Bus and there is no voltage on the Right Bus
DeadBusClosing R->L - It is possible to close the breaker if there is healthy voltage on the Right
Bus and there is no voltage on the Left Bus
DeadBusClosing BOTH - It is possible to close the breaker if there is healthy voltage on one of
the Buses and there is no voltage on the other one

Compatibility Sheet 14
