Classroom Layout Question 1: Describe the workflow of the room. Is the space used efficiently? >>>

The classroom has a closet and a bathroom that sit in between the two entrances/exits of the
classroom. It also has two sinks, on opposite sides of the classroom and a water fountain besides the
closet door. In the center are two rows of desks, one has an extra table where the teacher grades and
prepares assignments. There is also a round table in the back where she could pull students for
individual grading. The space was used very efficiently with leaving as much open space as possible so
that no matter where, she could see all the students.

Classroom Layout Question 2: In your opinion, how can the physical arrangement of the room be
improved? >>>

Since she prioritized open space, the shelves were mainly pushed up against the wall,
however, I found that I like how another teacher had her bookshelves create a mini-island for
reading. So that is one of the things I would have improved in my cooperating teachers
classroom. Another is the placement of the center objects are also hard to see and rather
hidden unless their the ones at the front of the classroom.
