Homework: Current Events Article about the Legislative Branch
Directions:
- For your homework assignment search for one current events article that involves Congress and
write a paragraph explaining it.

Evaluative Criteria:
For this assignment, a full credit response (2 points) includes the following:

Homework: In preparation for tomorrow’s lesson you will view a poll and read different documents to get
you to think about the following question: Does the Federal Government have too much power?

Directions:

- Part III- Student did not create two questions in preparation for class discussion
Day 5: Comparing State and Federal Government

Summative Assessment

You are either in the Legislative, Executive, or Judicial branch of government (Only pick ONE branch).
You need to explain to the American citizens what your power and responsibilities are in the government.
Assume that they have no knowledge about your branch of government.

You need to create a Powerpoint presentation discussing your power and responsibilities. You must
include what powers are granted to you in the Constitution (Include at least three). You must explain the
criteria for you to get elected. You must explain a current event that you are involved in that affects the
American people.

Your presentation will be graded on how clearly you present your information. Will American citizens
understand your branch of government after viewing your slides? You will also be graded on the accuracy
of the information.
