IHSA Debate State Finals News Release

With the IHSA Debate State Finals only a month away, IHSA has finally

delivered its final informational update. The information released this morning

highlights the venue, start times, attendance options and hotel options. The released

hotel options recommended by IHSA are scattered throughout Bloomington-

Normal, however they all have in common being conveniently located near

commercial areas as within reasonable distance from the Debate State Finals venue.

Contestants are expected to arrive to the Bone Student Center located on Illinois

State Universities campus around noon of March 19 th. Members of contestant’s

families and communities as well as members of the Bloomington-normal

community are encouraged to come out and support the stars of this year’s debate

state finals!

IHSA Soccer State Finals Conclusion

Judging from the conclusion to the men’s soccer state final one might think

the dramatic ending to the season was a made for television special. The hard-

fought battle was undertaken by high schools Wheaton Academy and Altoff Catholic.

It comes as no surprise that the two best schools in the 1a division kept the

competition close and interesting. The top soccer talents in all of Illinois high school

soccer showed the best performance Illinois High School soccer programs and

players have to offer. The weather afforded both teams a comfortable setting to

compete in. The results unlike the weather was only ideal for one team, with

Wheaton Academy coming out on top in the close competition.
