Module Title: Developmental Stage of the Learner

Task 1: How do people you know in each stage of development compare with what you have learned
about physical, cognitive, and psychosocial characteristics at the various developmental stages? 
At the various developmental stages, the people I know is more likely to what I have learned about their
physical, cognitive and psychosocial characteristics. First, in Infancy and Toddlerhood, they're usually
curious on the things they see, they pick the people they would go to, and they starts to learn how to talk.
While in Preschooler, they're learning how to express themselves more, they're imaginations are
becoming wide, and they're starting to reason. Third, in the stage of School-Aged Child, they start to be
more aware of their surroundings and they already think logically. The knowledge they knew before is
being developed and enhance in this stage. They also start to have a circle of friends and afraid to be
alone or be left out. Lastly, in Adolescence, they start to be independent, and their reasoning is more
rational. At this stage, it is also harder to identify oneself for many opportunities and behaviors will
change.

Task 2: How does the role of the health care worker as facilitator vary when teaching individuals at
different stages of development?
The role of the family in teaching and learning process in each stage of development is very important.
They should choose wisely on who they will trust to teach their children. Failure to pick the right teacher
will be ineffective to the growth of their child. Also, they must build a good relationship with the teacher
and be allies in developing the physical, cognitive and psychosocial abilities of the children.

Task 3: What is the role of the family in the teaching and learning process in each stage of development? 
There are different teaching strategies in different stages of development. When teaching an infant or a
toddler, the health care worker must be sensitive and more careful. Allow them to play but always guide
and ensure their safety. In Preschooler, the health care worker must start to build a good relationship with
them and gain their trust. This is the stage where they will discover things so what you will teach must be
right. Focus on the positive things and give them activities such as drawings.

Task 4: Discuss appropriate teaching strategies effective for learners at different developmental stages.
While in teaching School-Aged Child, use rational and logical examples to develop their thinking
abilities. Start to relate with them and encourage them to communicate with others. Motivate them to
discover their talents and skills. Lastly, in teaching learners in Adolescence stage, give tasks that will
develop their flexibility. Also, teach them how to focus on a certain subject and control their emotions.
Teach them how to socialize and choose peers that will be good for them.
