Tecnam P2012 Traveller


The Tecnam P2012 Traveller is an eleven-seat
P2012 Traveller
utility aircraft designed and manufactured by the
Italian company Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam,
based in Capua, Italy, near Naples.[3]

In 2009, Cape Air, a commuter airline based in


Massachusetts, asked Tecnam for a new aircraft
meeting their needs.[4] The project was publicly
revealed in April 2011.[5] In November 2015, Cape
Air signed a letter of intent to order 100 aircraft.[6]
On 21 July 2016, the first prototype performed its
maiden flight.[1] In October 2018, testing had been
completed,[7] and type certification from European
Aviation Safety Agency was received during

December 2018.[8] The first customer delivery
occurred during March 2019.[9] American Federal National origin Italy
Aviation Administration certification was awarded Manufacturer Tecnam
in August 2019,[10] and Cape Air received its first

Primary user Cape Air
It is Tecnam's first commercial aircraft and after its
introduction as a commuter airliner, it could be Produced 2016-present
used for VIP, cargo, parachuting and medevac.[5]
The company can produce up to 40 aircraft per year.[12] Tecnam forecasts a demand for 11,500
short-haul commuter aircraft between 2018 and 2028.[7]
