A. Definition of Narrative Text (Pengertian Teks Narasi)

1. Narrative text is a the type of text that tells a chronological story in the
past tense. yang artinya, teks narasi adalah suatu cerita yang dibuat runut
dalam kalimat lampau. Narrative text menceritakan cerita imajinatif
ataupun cerita nyata yang dimodifikasi, dan disusun melalui urutan
kejadian yang terjadi di masa lalu

2. The Purpose of Narrative Text (Tujuan Teks Narasi) The aim of

narrative text is to entertain the readers through the amusing story. Jika
diartikan, tujuan narrative text adalah untuk menghibur para pembaca
dengan ceritanya yang menarik.

3. Generic Structure of Narrative Text. There are 4 generic structures of

narrative text that you need to know if you want to compose or create a
narrative text, namely:

 Orientation It is the opening part of a narrative text story. This section

introduces the characters in the story (characters) and the setting of the
story which includes the setting of place, time, atmosphere, and social
conditions (setting).

 Complications This section contains the problems that occur in a story.

In more detail, complications are further divided into 3 parts, namely:

Rising action: Problems are starting to arise

Climax: The pinnacle of trouble

Falling action: The tension of the problem begins to decrease, and begins
to find a solution point. 3. Resolution This section contains the
completion or ending of a narrative text story. A story can be closed with
 a happy ending (happy ending), a sad ending (sad ending), or a hanging
ending (cliffhanger).

4. Legend is a genre of folklore that consists of a narrative that displays

human actions that the narrator and listeners believe or believe as a true
story that has happened.

Sometime in the distant past, there was an old dowager who lived in a little
house on the highest point of a slope with her lovely girl. The old dowager is

woods in the wilderness and sold them in the business once per week. She
needed to fulfill her girl so she worked increasingly hard each and every day.
The young lady, the old dowager’s girl, was clearly wonderful. Each man could

that they saw her face. Lamentably she had a terrible mentality. The young lady
was extremely sluggish and never helped her mom. Consistently she simply

needed. The old woman just kept noiseless and proceeded with the trip. Not far

same inquiry.
“Greetings sweetheart. Is it your mom who strolls behind you? ”

her mom. “No, no, she is not my mom,” said the young lady. “She is my slave!”
