Sap

is fluid transported in xylem cells . these cells transport water and


nutrients through the plant

There are two types of sap :

1. Xylem sap
2. Phloem sap

1. Xylem sap
it consists of primarily of watery solution of hormones and mineral
elements
Transport of sap of the xylem is characterized by movement from
the roots toward the leaves.

2. Phloem sap
consists primarily of sugars, hormones, and mineral elements
dissolved in water.

Phloem sap is thought to play a role in sending informational signals
