Pasado simple y pasado continuo

Algo no ocurrió = didn’t acá no se consideran los verbos irregulares ocuparía el verbo tal cual como el ejemplo.

Ej:

 No me pase ----- didn’t miss

 No compre ----- didn’t buy

Cuando ocupo

I, HE, SHE, IT ------- was + UN VERBO REGULAR O IRREGULAR si debo poner Ing

Para negar wasn’t

Ej:

 i was running --- estaba corriendo

 i was eating
 i we studing

YOU WE THEY ------were + UN VERBO REGULAR O IRREGULAR PERO si debo poner Ing

Para negar weren’t

Ej: i was running

Ejemplos: (ejercicio de prueba)

 I was having (Have) lunch in a café yesterday when the server accidentally spilled (spill) tomato sauce on my
shirt. I guess he wasn’t paying (not/ pay) attention. I was upset, but I got (get) my lunch for free.

 My friend and were at a barbecue last week. When we were walking (walk) around the yard, she tripped (trip)
and fell ( Fall) into the pond.

 I Damaged (damage) my parent’s car last week.

to pay for the repairs. *al saber lo que ocurrió define, ocupo el pasado simple

 Last wek I was on the bus, and I was talking (talk) to my girlfriend on my cell phone. Well, actually, we
were having (have) along argument. We weren’t getting along… ( not/ get along) at the time.
When I…ended……… (End) the call, I realized that everyone on the bus was listening (Listen).How
embarrassing.
