This Journal is prepared to show the importance of
studying and learning the literature and its characteristics and the significance of the historical background in the development of the shape of Philippine Literature, so that our fellow students, our dear learners, can continue their studies while learning at home.
In this Journal the students will be going to learn and
study the various dimensions, genres, elements, structures, contexts, periods, and traditions of 21 st Century Literature from the Philippines.
The study of Philippine Literature helps us to learn
and understands the basic concept of literature and to be literate. Discussions of a different period in Philippine Literature are stated, for us to understand each lesson. Philippine Literature focuses on the country’s pre-colonial cultural traditions and the socio-political histories of its colonial and temporary traditions with the noted literary forms and works, which are passed from generation to generation through oral tradition. Another important characteristic of Philippine Literature it encourages us the retrieval, teaching and we are not only learning about the historical aspects and civilization of our land but also the beliefs and cultural variations of our ancestors that differentiate our country from the rest of the world.
