8Ea burning fuels

when hydrogen fuel is involved in combustion the reaction is:

hydrogen + oxygen --> water
this reaction does not have co2 as an emission

hydrocarbons:
a hydrocarbon is a compound that is made of only hydrogen and carbon
examples of hydrocarbons include coal and oil, which are fossil fuels
when hydrocarbons are burnt they release carbon dioxide and water
the chemical equation is
hydrocarbon + oxygen --> carbon dioxide (co2) + water

test for hydrogen:

take a burning splint and move it near your gas in a test tube
if there is hydrogen then there should be a squeaky pop sound, which confirms
hydrogen
if there is not a pop sound and nothing happens then your gas is not hydrogen
