The main idea of this story is to show to us that there is nothing impossible and unbelievable if you are brave

and believe in your convictions without any doubts. For me the most exciting episode in this story it is the voyage on a self-made raft in the subterranean ocean during a storm. This episode is an example of boldness of three travelers who continually struggles with enormous troubles on their way to the goal. Moreover, writer demonstrates meaning of a friendship between people in a difficult situation. During the journey travelers together, solve many difficult tasks. Thus, when Henry lost his last hope to be rescued he heard a voice of his uncle and Hans who were searching for him all this time when he was sitting in this gloomy place. new creatures and gigantic people that live in the center of the Earth. This journey last about four month, but the most exciting thing in this journey is that it started in one crater in Iceland and finished in another crater in Sicily that laid about 1200 km from the first one. However, the most important event of their journey was the discovery that they made in a core of the Earth, they proved that inside of our Earth there is a secret world. When they came back home, people met them like a heroes. I think that this book is excellent. This story is fast paced, exciting, original and charming. When I read this book I it was very simple for me to imagine the pictures that were describing in this book. As a matter of fact, this book is outstanding because it was written in 1864 and at that time, it was impossible to imagine a journey to the center of the earth, so this book is really cool. Therefore, we can understand how far ahead of his time Jules Verne was in comprehending science. Before reading this book, I have not ever thought that inside our planet may be something like a hidden world with oceans and ancient animals, but now it is not very hard for me to imagine this. Consequently, this book has changed my imagination and understanding of the world in general. When I try to place myself on the place of one of the characters and imagine myself deep under the Earth, my heart sinks and I am starting to understand feelings of Harry who was alone in the heart of the planet. And I also think, that this book shows very well the deep knowledge of sciences of the author who wrote this excellent book. When you read it, you learn a lot of new information about geology and physic. I have a very good impression of this book because I have learnt a lot of new information about world, I read about national traditions of people who leave in a mountain of Iceland. And it was also very interesting to read a story that was written more then hundred years ago. Therefore I want to advise everybody to read this book. SUMMARY:

JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) is a seismic specialist who focuses on volcanic activity throughout the planet, with the intention of studying tectonic movement. Having lost touch with his assumeddead scientist brother Max a decade prior, Trevor is faced with many professional perils, namely the impending loss of his research lab due to his late brother's lack of findings, the other being a consistent loss in student enrollment. Having been warned about his department's impending shutdown, Trevor forgets about an upcoming visit by said late brother's son, his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson), who is to spend a 10-day vacay with his absentminded uncle. As his sister-in-law drops off her aloof offspring, she hands Trevor a box filled with his late brother's research materials. It soon becomes evident that brother Max had begun extensive research in what became a dangerous quest in discovering a world within a world, namely the famous 19th century writer Jules Verne's famous "Center of the Earth", the origin of his fictitious novel. Trevor and Max immediately head off to Iceland, having assumed that Max might have survived, or at least stumbled onto actual real world data, pointing to an unforeseen land untouched by man, fathoms beneath the Earth's crust. With the help of a late Icelandic researcher's mountain guide daughter (Anita Briem), they soon locate real-life landmarks which may point to an entrance to undiscovered nether regions, and many dangers lurking within. A science professor (Fraser) whose radical theories have completely tarnished his reputation. While backpacking across Iceland with his nephew Sean (Hutcherson), the two explorers find a cave that leads them deep down into the bowels of the planet. And so they go on a quest to find out what has happened to the scientists missing brother, a scientist, his nephew and their mountain guide discovers a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth. There they discover a bizarre landscape filled with terrifying creatures. Professor Trevor Anderson (Brendan Fraser) teaches earth sciences at the university and heads the Center of Volcanic Activity. Max Anderson, Trevors brother, built the monitoring system and placed the units around the world 10 years earlier. For some unknown reason, Max did not return, leaving behind a wife and son, Sean (Josh Hutcherson). Seans mother leaves the teenager at Trevors house to get some quality time with his uncle. They look at Maxs copy of Journey to the Center of the Earth by Jules Verne and find a secret code. Back at the monitoring center Trevor compares the volcanic activity numbers and finds that they are exactly the same as the ones in the book. Trevor and Sean fly to Iceland to check one of the units

and to see if they can find some information about where Max went. Trevor hires a beautiful mountain guide, Hannah (Anita Briem), to take them up the volcano. During an electrical storm on the volcano, they get trapped in an abandoned mine. They search for a way out of the mine and discover a wall filled with large diamonds. Unfortunately, the floor they are standing on cant hold their weight, and they fall down a volcano tube for miles and miles until they reach the center of the earth. Once there, they encounter prehistoric glow birds, flying piranha, man-eating plants, and T-Rex dinosaurs that have been extinct for millions of years. They find that they are seeing the same things that were printed in the Jules Verne book. This gave them hope that someone was able to escape from the center of the earth and return to the surface.
