Left with no Traces

It was a dull morning. The sun hides behind the dark clouds and there was a melancholy
girl walking in the seacoast, holding a cupcake with a candle. Pondering about the memory that
she will cherish forever. It was the only commemoration of her mother that she has. When her
mother was still alive, they would buy a cupcake from the bakery and would go to the seaside to
have fun. Her mother feels at home in the water and it makes her feel more alive. Now that her
mother passed away, the girl which is named Sally would still go to the seaside with a cupcake,
then she would light the candle, and would close her eyes remembering the memories with her
mother along with the teardrops coming from her eyes.

She was in a crying momentum when her hair was blown by the strong wind together
with the leaves. When she opened her eyes, a big splash in the water was all she have seen. She
trembled with a thought that it must have been someone thrown from above. When she go near
to the water of the sea, she accidentally touched the water and another unexpected situation
happened. The wind blows strong again and a boy came out of the water and it seemed like
there’s a wind that was surrounding him that it keeps him out from the water. She was about to
run but she collapsed all of a sudden.

Sally woke up in a bathtub at their home. Her Nanay Joanne put her there because same
as Sally’s mother, she find comfort and cure from the water. She get up and she went to the
dining area. She ate the soup but she felt the uneasiness of her Nanay.

“Nanay Joanne, what happened to me? Why did I woke up in the bathtub again?” Sally
asked.

“Sally, the next time that you feel something strange upon seeing something unusual, you
should get yourself out from that.” Her Nanay Joanne’s warning.

She don’t know what her Nanay is saying because she couldn’t remember anything that
had happened earlier. She just finished the food and went to her room. She felt so weak so she
fell asleep.
 “Who are you? What happened to Sally?” Joanne said to the boy but the boy is
speechless. He doesn’t say anything.

Joanne carried Sally to their house while the boy is suspiciously following them but Joanne
noticed him yet, she let him follow them. The boy seemed ignorant though. When Joanne
finished putting Sally in the bathtub, she quickly went outside to talk with the boy but it suddenly
disappeared by the wind. Now, Nanay Joanne felt something strange and it gave her chills. She
thought that she knew what would possibly happen so she warned Sally to be careful.

“Sally, wake up. The dinner is ready.” Nanay Joanne called.

Sally woke up and she was antsy. She then realized that she was just dreaming. It was all
just a dream so she breathe in and breathe out. Her Nanay called her again so she got up from
bed and fixed herself to eat dinner.

Few years later, Sally grew up as a strong, intelligent and responsible lady. She got an
academic scholarship from the University she is in. Sally is credibly stunning and beautiful.
Others see her as a goddess but others also see her as a monster. They think that Sally is really
hiding her true identity. They believed that she is not a human.

Sally was eating alone at the University’s cafeteria. She never had a true friend because
everybody becomes jealous and would end up betraying her. A group of girls went near to her
with a hand full of food and they threw it up to Sally. Sally was shaken and she wasn’t able to
hold her temper that time. Everybody in the cafeteria stopped laughing when they saw the water
in a dispenser boiling, even the water that was on the glass turned into a dark color and it makes
everyone totter. There was a sudden wind and Sally became calm and ran towards the
University’s room for cleaning materials.

While Sally was weeping in the room, the water was overflowing from the drum but she
didn’t mind it. She felt a wind again and she watched every corner of the room but there was
nothing. She wiped her tears, washed his head and fixed herself then she went home.

She was very eager to go back home because she wanted to have an answer from her
Nanay Joanne about who she really is. When she got home, she found her Nanay at the kitchen.

“Oh Sally, you’re home come on and eat with me.” Nanay Joanne said.
 But Sally was pissed off to her Nanay. So she ignored the food that her Nanay offered to her.
Sally went to her room and be asleep rather than thinking the answers to her possible questions.

Sally saw a hazy guy formed by an invisible wind walking nearer to her and expressing
something. Sally was awakening from her sleep and feels uneasy about to her dream. She then
remembered the events at the seashore back when she was a child. Sally tried to reminiscence the
face of the guy but it’s getting hard for her because she’s not good at recalling someone or
something.

Sally decided to eat and go to the sea after. But when sally close the door, there was a piece of
paper fallen on the floor. Sally picks it up and tries to understand the words written on the paper.

“Sally, what’s your problem? You look so serious?” Nanay Joanne asks while arranging the
plates at the cabinet.

“Nay, what is this about?” Sally answered.

“Where did you get that? You don’t have the authority to touch my things.” Nanay Joanne’s
responded

“But why I feel something that it is related to me, it’s seem like it tackles about my existence. All
the incidents that were happening to me recently are very exact to the date that was written here
in the paper” Sally uttered.

I’m sorry Sally, but I think it’s the time already that you need to know your true personality. I’m
so sorry that you think that I’m too selfish to let you know who truly you are. But I was just
worried that because of this, it will make you change. So that I end up being quiet and taking
care of you as much as I could. Sally you do have power, you can control water. But when
you’re livid or poignant you can’t control your power. Also you need to be vigilant every time.

Sally ran out and went to the sea shore while crying. She can’t stop wondering how it all began;
why it is happening to her, and where did she get that power. At the same time as questioning
herself she just then realized that the sea becomes high tide and Sally was startle because at first
she didn’t believe that she really have a power. But then she noticed the certain wind again. It
makes her protected and serene.

“Who are you? Can you please stop hiding? Can you confront me?” Sally screamed out.
 Then a boy comes into sight. “You look so familiar, do I know you? Did we meet already?”
Sally said. “Yes, before” the boy answered and then vanished. Sally was left behind confused.

Sally went home quicker and tells her Nanay about the boy. Nanay Joanne informed Sally about
the boy. “Sally, the boy you were talking about named Chino. Chino was sent here just to guard
and lead you, but Chino will not live here for so long. He will be get back to the other world
soon. But in a little while that Chino will get back, you will die too. Because it’s your power can
harm you also, and only Chino can make you calm. This part of your life I am scared about. But
I’m trying to get ready for whatever going to happen and nothing to do but to accept it.” Sally
hugged her Nanay Joanne while crying and ran to her room.

Early in the morning, while Nanay Joanne was cooking she feels something strange about the
atmosphere. She went out and looks at the ocean and Nanay Joanne rapidly go to Sally’s room.
But only a letter was left alone at the bed of Sally and Nanay Joanne nothing to do but to cry.
