VVI Information

1. Consult the Roadmap (uploaded) and the information given bellow attentively. If you are
not clear about anything, ask immediately. Note that there is no space for excuses such as
“Avwg g‡b K‡iwQjvgÓ Avwg RvbZvgbvÓ etc. This is your responsibility to keep yourself update
about the course curriculum.
2. You are required to be in the classroom within 5 minutes of the class time. If you don’t,
you will be marked as a late comer.
3. You must keep your mobile phone inside your bag/pocket keeping it off/silent all the
time during the class. And recording class lectures is strictly prohibited.
4. You must submit assignment through Canvas. I suggest you to submit it well before the
deadline to avoid last minute’s difficulties, such as problem with your PC, internet etc.
Under no circumstances, assignment sent through email will be accepted.
5. Do not think about any “makeup”. You can take a makeup only when you have a valid
cause with proper documents. And you must inform your problem immediately.
However, “makeup” questions will be tougher and naturally you will score low. A
“makeup” taker never gets the highest score in this course. FYI, as the total number of
best 2 out of 3 quizzes will be counted; there is a makeup quiz within this policy. So,
there is no scope for a makeup quiz.
6. You can ask for an “I” grade if you have completed all the assessments except the final
exam. In this case, you must have a valid reason with proper documents. And you can
only ask for an “I” grade well before the final exam. Again the question and assessment
will be tougher for an “I” grade taker.
7. Only attending classes will not earn you a good score. For an overall good score you need
to be attentive during the class and you have to participate in the class discussions.
8. You are strongly recommended not to prepare yourself for any of the assessments listed
in the “Roadmap” just day before the assessment(s). It will encourage you to come up
with excuses such as “ Avgvi wKQz g‡b †bBÓ, ÓAvwg me fz‡j hvw”QÓ “ BwZnvm Avgvi g‡b _v‡K bvÓ etc.
Note that not only history but also all disciplines require remembering information to
some extent.
9. You only deserve your expected final grade, if you follow the above instructions
properly. I do not respond to any complain/request regarding final grade once it is
submitted. I want you not to beg for good grades but to achieve it. This is how you
uphold your dignity.
10. If you do not like these instructions, I will be happy to see you withdraw from this course
and we all will miss you!
