PREMIUM HYDROACTIVE
BULKHEAD SEAL DEVELOPED FOR THE US NAVY, AVAILABLE FOR YOUR VESSEL!
The Reliant™ Series YM is a Premium HydroActive Bulkhead
Seal due to its high shaft deflection capabilities and its
innovative HydroActive™ technology.
Mide Marine's Reliant™ Series YM provides the highest quality and lowest total
ownership cost bulkhead seal available. HydroActive™ technology enables the
Reliant Series YM to only contact the shaft during a flooding event - reducing the
wear experienced with traditional bulkhead sealing systems. This line of seals
has been tested following US Navy guidelines for lifetime qualification,
MIL-S-901D Shock and MIL-STD-167-1A Vibration. Rigorously tested, and proven
to outperform.

1 NON-CONTACTING HYDROACTIVE DESIGN

Utilizing lightweight “floating” components and HydroActive™ technology,
Mide Marine's Reliant Series YM represents the pinnacle of bulkhead seal
design and engineering. These top of the line seals are designed to withstand
large shaft deflections, axial and radial movement, high pressures, and severe
vibrations - culminating in a product designed to last the lifetime of the vessel.

2 SPLIT DESIGN
All of Mide Marine's bulkhead seal products utilize a split design. A split
design allows these seals to be easily installed aboard a ship without having
to remove the shaft. This is a critical design feature to ensure our seals are the
lowest total ownership cost (TOC) seals on the market.

3 LIGHTWEIGHT

PREMIUM HYDROACTIVE
BULKHEAD SEAL DEVELOPED FOR THE US NAVY, AVAILABLE FOR YOUR VESSEL!
The Reliant™ Series RM is a Premium HydroActive Bulkhead
Seal due to its high shaft deflection capabilities and its
innovative HydroActive™ technology.
Mide Marine's Reliant™ Series Retrofit Model (RM) offers a lower procurement cost
whilst maintaining all the advantages of the Reliant Series YM. This HydroActive™
bulkhead seal series is non-contacting, and will only engage the shaft
during a flooding event - reducing the wear experienced with current sealing
systems. This line of seals has been rigorously tested following US Navy guide-
lines for lifetime qualification, MIL-S-901D Shock and MIL-STD-167-1A Vibration.
Rigorously tested, and proven to outperform.

1 RETROFIT DESIGN
When the US Navy required a safer and lower total ownership cost bulkhead
seal they turned to Mide Marine to design and deliver a drop in replacement
solution. The Reliant Series RM utilizes the same HydroActive™ technology
found in every Mide Marine seal, but is designed to fit inside an existing hous-
ing. These seals do not spin but rather float off of the shaft at a predetermined
gap, only sealing when water is present. By installing directly into an existing
bulkhead seal housing, the Reliant Series RM offers a lower procurement cost
when compared to replacing the entire seal.

HYDROACTIVE
BULKHEAD SEAL COST EFFECTIVE HYDROACTIVE SEALING TECHNOLOGY
The Omni™ Series incorporates Mide Marine's HydroActive™
technology in a cost effective solution for any vessel.
The Omni™ Series bulkhead seal is a normally non-contacting seal which only
activates in the presence of water, eliminating premature failure. Developed and
tested utilizing the same US Navy guidelines for lifetime qualification as the Reliant
Series, the Omni Series is a proven system that will perform when it really counts.
No Wear. No Maintenance. No Compromise.

1 SIMPLE STATIC DESIGN

The Omni series seal maintains all of the benefits of being a non-contacting
HydroActive™ seal at a lower procurement cost. This lower cost is directly
attributed to the simple static design of the seal. The primary difference to the
military grade Reliant series is that the Omni series seal does not
translate with the shaft. This enables a lower part count which leads to a lower
cost option for your ship. The Omni is the seal of choice for ships which have
shaft deflections less than 20 mm peak to peak.

2 NON-CONTACTING HYDROACTIVE DESIGN

Utilizing lightweight “floating” components and HydroActive™ technology,
Mide Marine's Omni Series represents the pinnacle of bulkhead seal design
and engineering. These top of the line seals are designed to withstand large

Custom applications

Mide Marine’s first offering into the bulkhead seal market was a seal custom
designed to replace the leaky internals of an existing product. Tested and proven,
these seals now call multiple US Navy Destroyers home, and are an alternative to
complete seal assemblies. NAVSEA and ABS approved.

Mide Marine can custom design a seal to meet your requirements. We have done
it for the US Navy, and we can do it for you!

5 RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
Mide Marine’s core expertise is research and development. From this, Mide
Marine will always strive to improve its products, and seek out new
innovations to introduce to the marine industry. Mide Marine is also capable
of partnering with the marine industry to develop new products and ideas. If
you have an idea, allow Mide to develop it for you.

2 SEAL INSPECTIONS
Many older bulkhead shaft seal designs may have already failed without the
ship operator or owner knowing. It is not until a compartment has flooded that
this failure is evident. Mide Marine’s Service Engineers are capable of inspect-
ing not only its own seals, but a variety of other seals as well.

Though Mide Marine’s line of HydroActive™ bulkhead seals are designed not
to wear, it is still good practice to inspect them periodically based upon
associated maintenance cards. This work can be quickly and efficiently
performed by our team of experienced engineers - providing ship owners and
operators with peace of mind.

3 ON BOARD TESTING
In order to properly ensure operation of new or existing bulkhead seals, Mide
Marine has designed and manufactured a variety of test fixtures for on
board testing. These units simulate a flooded compartment and provide leak
measurements across the bulkhead. Mide currently possesses fixtures for
several class ships, with the capability to design and fabricate test equipment
for virtually any shaft and seal combination.
