1.Define Risk Assessment.

• Risk assessments are part of the risk management process and are included in
the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
• Risk assessment is a systematic process of evaluating the potential risks that
may be involved in a projected activity or undertaking.

2.What are the three steps in Risk Assessment?

1. Risk identification is the process of finding and describing risks that might
help or prevent an organization achieve its objectives.
2. Making judgments"on the tolerability of the risk on the basis of a risk
analysis" while considering influencing factors(i.e.risk evaluation)
3. Control measures include actions that can be taken to reduce the potential of
exposure to the hazard, or the control measure could be to remove the hazard or
to reduce the likelihood of the risk of the exposure to that hazard being realized.

3.What benefits will you gain if you are aware of Risk assessment and the Control Measures?

• I would be able to recognize and control hazards in my workplace,


Create awareness among my employees – and use it as a training tool as
well, set risk management standards, based on acceptable safe practices
and legal requirements, reduce incidents in the workplace and Save
costs by being proactive instead of reactive.
