Black representation in movies has stemmed from a place of prejudice and racism;

however, it is constantly growing and improving. Ryan Coogler's Black Panther is a

revolutionary film demonstrating a groundbreaking impact on the history of African-Americans

and their representation in films. Despite merely being a children's superhero movie, Black

Panther marked a milestone for the black population worldwide because its identifying features

highlight the celebration and praise of black culture and raise awareness for their recurring

issues. In fact, this text was one of the first movies to have a primarily black cast and star a

black superhero that is not under the supervision of a white man. As such, Black Panther

successfully represented the black culture in a healthy and promoting way to its younger

audience. This film's significant influence on its audience is derived from the representation of

several black cultures at once. These cultures range from the Western hip-hop cultures depicted

in Oakland in the film's opening scenes to the Eastern cultures of African countries displayed in

Wakanda. Furthermore, the Eastern black beauty in Black Panther was conveyed from different

points of view. We initially saw the rich, creative, and technological side, which is partially

symbolically representing black culture, in Wakanda. This was followed by the representation of

positivity among poverty explored by Nakia in The Golden City. Race and ethnicity were also

analyzed in this film through its plot and themes. As King T'Challa felt responsible for the people

of Wakanda, he initially refused to share their resources to help the thousands of other black

populations around the world who are suffering and struggling; This is one of the main conflicts

in Black Panther. As the conflict was resolved, Wakanda opened itself up to the rest of the world

and began using its resources to help other black people in need. This resolution demonstrated

the relatability and connection among black people worldwide as they have endured similar

everyday struggles. Nevertheless, the release of this film did not occur without backlash. This is

inevitable when discussing sensitive topics such as race and racism, but thankfully, the negative

criticism did not take away from Black Panther's impact. This film is indisputably essential and

will be spoken about in history.
