San Vicente is the lack of social interaction between neighborhoods. One of the issues that | have observed in the area is the lack of common or communal spaces. The predominant occupants or residence of the subdivision are commonly children. Some of them range from 5 to 12 years old. Therefore, one of the feasible spaces would be playgrounds, parks and other leisure spaces that would benefit the youth. LEISURE PARK/ PLAYGROUND PERSPECTIVES via verde, imperial homes iW (current) A “ ry | gee, \ 4A ie Some of the existing roads in the Via Verde subdivision are narrow and sometimes a two way street is below the minimum width. Also, a problem with parking should be addressed due to the fact that some of the vehicles of the residents are parked outside and on the curbs, Therefore, sidewalks are blocked by parked vehicles and it could reduce the overall pedestrian safety. Parked vehicles could also block access for vehicles if streets are too narrow. via verde, imperial homes (proposed) street lights The subdivision does not have existing street lights based on my observation. one-way roads One-way streets could provide more space for parking and also for pedestrians and WY, would cause less traffice street signages Street signages should be implemented such as street names, road markings. speed bumps Typically 10-15 cm high and 4-6 m long. The dimensions can be tailored to match the target speed of the street. one-way shared streets Reroute vehicular traffic in the neighborhood to reduce traffic volumes and create a one-way shared street. Create horizontal deflection to reduce speeds by strategically designating areas for limited parking and green infrastructure pedestrian-priority streets Remove vehicular through-traffic and on-street parking to create a pedestrian priority street with limited vehicular and driveway access. Install playable elements and street furniture that allow the street to be used as a front yard for play, rest, socializing, and more. two-way street with parking Maintain two-way vehicular traffic. Remove parking from one side of the street and widen sidewalks to create accessible and continuous clear paths. Implement restricted access, curb extensions, pinch points, and raised crossings to reduce speeds, shorten crossing distances, and provide space for green infrastructure, trees, and seating.
