a result of their parachutes not fully deploying due to the low altitude.
The K-8 continued to fly out of control for some time before it crashed.

This UAV was lost in unknown circumstances while assisting in
operations against Houthi rebels in Yemen. This was the first known
loss of the type during operations in Yemen, where a total of 12
coalition UAVs are reported to have been lost since the beginning
of the year.
Oct 2 Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing AW139
As noted above, the type involved in this accident has been confirmed
as an AW139 – see ‘Attrition’, December, p96. Additional details are
now also known – the helicopter was on final approach to land at the
scene of a road traffic accident when it struck overhead wires and
crashed. The accident occurred at night, but neither pilot was wearing
night-vision goggles and there was no crewman keeping a lookout.
Oct 13 Russian Armed Forces Orlan-10 UAV
This reconnaissance UAV was overflying Syria while monitoring the
situation along the line of contact between Kurdish armed formations
and pro-Turkish militias when it crashed near Turkmen-Bareh, east
of Marea, in the northern area of Aleppo province. It came down
relatively intact, on its belly but with the starboard wing separated.
The Turkish-backed Free Syrian Army (TFSA) claimed to have shot
it down, although the lack of serious damage makes this claim
somewhat doubtful.
