As it related to the following, this will be my one and only public statement on this matter. In 2015, | hired an Office Manager, someone | thought would be able to honestly and fairly run the business and handle the day-to-day operations of the business while | was employed in the Private Corrections field full-time. In the spring of 2020 after | heard of a few customer complaints, it became apparent to me that our checks and balances were not adding up, so I sought an outside independent audit of Slayton. | first contacted FLDE and then Okeechobee Sheriff's Office. Since that time, | have left the career in Private Corrections, began working for my company full time, and the former Office Manager resigned. ‘Additionally, | sold my personal residence to use the profit from the sale of such to right the wrongs of the former Office Manager and finish projects customers had paid for and left incomplete. Today, after more than two years of investigations, | was informed that our former Office Manager ‘Samuel Vuletta has been arrested and charged with numerous crimes as it relates primarily to his criminal actions related to Slayton Construction Corporation. | want to take this time to thank the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Department and It’s primary investigator on this case, Detective Q. Speed for his dedication in resolving this matter. Additionally, | want to apologize to any and all customers affected by this, and want everyone to know, this is NOT how I run a business, and theft from customers or myself will not be tolerated. If you were affected by Mr. Vuletta, please contact the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office and file a proper report for them to investigate.
