Reactivity Profile

Individually consider your own reactivity in a recent heated argument and write down
the following
information.

Your physical reactivity: increased heart rate, muscle tension, stomach tightness or
body heat, etc.

Your emotional reactivity: deep emotions that lead to anger or frustration: feeling
disappointed,
anxious, fearful, overwhelmed, inadequate, unheard, misunderstood, powerless,
confused,
hopeless, alone, attacked, defensive, disrespected, judged, etc.

Your self-talk: “Here we go again”, “I can’t do anything right”, “Nothing will ever
change”,
“This is so unfair”, etc.

Your behavioral reactivity: yelling, threatening, name-calling, defensiveness,


criticizing, judging,
shutting down, interrogating, jumping up, storming out of the room, throwing things, wall
punching,
etc.
