Fateh Nagar, Surat Navsari Road Udhna 394 220. Dist. Surat, Gujarat (india) Manual Code No. 92 222 1001 5. MAINTENANCE 1 ADSUSTMENT OF MULTIDISC CLUTCH (FIG. 5) The multiple disc clutch is factory set for a cutting torque related to maximum capacity of the machine. After long use, if it is found that the clutch does not take the maximum rated load, i.e. the clutch slips at maximum toad, then the clutch needs adjustment. The clutch is accessible from the window covered with acrylic provided on right hand side of the spindle head. To adjust the clutch proceed as follow. ‘a) Unscrew screws (19) and remove acrylic glass cover (20). 5} Press stopper plate (21) out so that stopper (22) comes out of the slot in plate (23). €) Plate (23) has number of slots. Now rotate the nut (24) towards the disc and release the stopper to enter in next Slot of the plate. d) Replace cover (20) and screw it down by scrows (19). e) Now the load capacity can be rechecked and any further adjustments, if required, can be done similarly. ww ADJUSTMENTS FOR DRILL HEAD CLAMPING Head ig takes place by means of an eccentric bush and a clamping block which presses against the arm. Head clamping can be adjusted by fsosening the screws (28), rotating the adjustment scrow (28} and retightening the screws (29). This adjustment is done in the factory and we advise against stment at customer's end, unless felt absolutely necessary. Page No. 23 BRE 5.3 ADJUSTMENTS OF ARM SWIVEL CLAMPING (Fig. 7) The electro-hydraulic device for head clamping / declamping also does clamping / declamping of outer sleeve on inner column. Through a proper linkage, the outer ring of the colurnn sleeve carrying the rollers, acting on the | inclined surface of rockers (32) is rotated. These rockers are connected to tie rods (30). The tie rods at the same time, wedge the taper shaped semi-rings (33) between inner.cdlumn and outer sleeve, thus locking the later one in the required position. The clamping linkage etc. for the outer sleeve is factory set and should not be changed. If after long period of use the clamping between outer sleeve and inner column proves no longer effective, the initial condition can be restored by eliminating wear or backlash of the rockers (32) by means of adjusting nylok nuts (34). For properly adjusting the tension of the tie rods proceed as follow : a) Depress the green push button for unclamping. b) Swing arm manually. ©) Depress the red push button. Arm clamping must occur immediately. if not, tighten the locking nylok nuts (31) of the tie rods by not more than 4J6th of a turn at a time. All the nuts should be tightened uniformly. If necessary, repeat the operation until a satisfactory result is achieved. CAUTION Tightening of locking nuts must be carried out only with clamped column. Tightening with unclamping column will cause damage or even breakages of the rockers or other components of the clamping system. Clamping has been adjusted before the machine leaves the factory. It is advised not to attempt adjustment at customer's end unless felt absolutely necessary. «For adjustment, the nut (18) should be tightened by 30 degree rotation whilst the arm is clamped.
