Word Religion Reflection

1. In our first two meetings, we learned about how the concept of religion continues
to evolve and change; in your opinion based on our discussion, what is religion?
Do we have certain criteria for it?
Religion represent the way of life for those who believe in it. Religion is a belief in a
god or supernatural being. In religion itself should concist of 5Cs that is Creed, Cult,
Code, Conduct, and Community.

2. Indian religions believe that death is not the end of life; there will be another life
after death. Please explain this concept. What underlies the birth of this belief
and what are the important lessons you gain from this belief?
Indian believes that time works in circular, means that when they die, they will be
reborn or reincarnated into a different body. The underlies of this belief is because
Indian’s people are mostly buddhist and Buddhists believe that after death there is law
of rebirth. According to this law, all beings will continue to be reborn in various
planes of existence (according to their own karma) and what we can get from this
belief is that God gives us another chance to change ourselves and make ourselves
more devoted to Him.

3. Religions born in India believe that life is suffering. What does it mean?
Samsara or what they believe is about “cyclicality of all life, matter, existence", a
fundamental belief of most Indian religions. When they believe that suffering will
lead them to a better life, then they will try to accept their destiny so their life will
move forward and be able to reach a great ending, and at the end of the point is that
they can get out of that cycle soon and live with their own karma, whether it’s good or
not

4. Religions are believed to spread peace and end suffering, yet we still see there are
many evils everywhere, peace also does not appear to be present evenly, does this
mean that religion has failed to function?
Religion does not fail to function if the people who believe in it know very well how
the rules in their religion work. Many people use the name of religion to bring down
other religions, such as how a religion feels that they are more powerful because they
are the majority and treat harshly other religions since they are minority. This
becomes like a dark point in that religion because how they religion educate them are
far different from the bibble or Quran or other book they should follow
