CHAPTER 1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 4.1 TYPE OF BUSINESS AND PRODUCTS OFFERED ‘Maja Madness is a sole proprietorship type of business, The reason for being sole proprietorship is because it can be easily managed and there are minimal restrictions in terms of opening and running the business. Our business specializes in giving the customers a delightful and savoury dessert. The customers can choose ‘among the five varieties of flavours that Maja Madness offers, namely: Corn Kemnelled, Ube and Jackfrut, Fruit salad, Mango and Strawberry. It is our Filipino version of Panna Cotta. We wanted to offer the public a new taste of Maja Blanca, different from the usual and what we normally taste and see in the market. 1.2 MANAGEMENT HIGHLIGHTS Maja Madness is a business involving different key business operations. We value every operation because we wanted to make the customers satisfied with the products that we offer. The operation of the business heavily relies on the efficiency of the operation during business hours. Efficiency is necessary to save time and cost and minimize defects, wastes and variations. Courtesy means establishing good rapport with all the stakeholders so that they will be able to feel respected, treated just and fairly. The business wil be composed of six employees that will work together to satisfy the market and gain profi. The business will be open 24 hours a week except on Monday, the rest day, for inventory and clean-up. We've chosen to be open 24 hours because there are many people within the area like passengers, churchgoers, shoppers and commuters that will become our potential market. 4.3 MARKETING HIGHLIGHTS ur business heavily relies on the promotional aspect of our business. Since we are new to the market, we will dwell on promotion in social media and giving discounted coupons andlor flyers to attract the market. The primary objectives of promotional activities are for the popularity of not just our product but of our business as a whole, increase brand awareness and strong brand identity, attract more customers which will lead to increase in sales and business growth and enhance product identification. We have a very large income generator because our location is near the Baclaran church, that is why, there are lots of people from time to time, the commuters, passengers, churchgoers and shoppers. The target market of our business will be the young professionals. They have a stable job and have the abilly to purchase and patronize our product, 1.4 SOCIO-ECONOMIC HIGHLIGHTS ‘Maja Madness will help the government increase the growth of our economy because of job generation. In this case, the government can somehow reduce the number of unemployed people around the country. By means of provi ‘employment, the economy ofthe Phiippines will grow, ‘The customers can benefit from our business because we provide different flavours of Maja Blanca. tis a Maja Blanca with the twist diffrent from what we have usually seen in the market place.We also establish good interpersonal skis with the customers by making them experience the service and satisfaction they want. This business will be beneficial to local residents which will provide them job opportunities. As results of this, some local families will increased their income level because the money spent at the local business stays in the local area 1.5 FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS Maja Madness’ financial assumptions are as follows: Sales are on cash basis and projected to increase gradually from the 1st year, 2nd Year - 10%; 3rd Year - 15%; 4th Year - 20% and Sth Year - 25% Costs and operating expenses will increase steadily at 10%. Management will take efforts to maintain or minimize costs and expenses while gradually increasing the sales. Excess cash will be invested to high yielding marketable securities, acquisitions of new equipments, expansions and promotions. Property and Equipment are to be depreciated for 5 years. Renovation costs to be amortized for 5 years. ‘The company is highly liquid and capable to meet current obligations and pay its operating expenses. It 's observable that only pichie pichie and rice cake are widely produced and sold around and outside the metropolis. We want to bring difference to the public. We want to introduce Maja as a snack, merienda or dessert. I is @ food to go, a pasalubong and can also serve as git or treat for parties and meetings. Our company sells a different kind of Maja Blanca, It is @ Maja with a fruity flavour, unlike the usual taste in the market place, corn kerelied, white and fluffy Maja Blanca. We have variety of flavours to choose from, it includes mango, frut-salad, ube with jackfruit and strawberry. With these flavours, each Maja will have a taste of distinction that the public will surely enjoy and savour. It is the reason why they will be coming back in our business. Maja Madness, though madness has @ negative connotation, we will change this negativity to positivity by making sure that everyone who tried our Maja will be crazy, in a good way, about i.
