Significance of the play

Self identity:
The play is very eloquent
because it emphasizes the
importance also self identity,
self worth. Self identity is very
important because it
strengthens one’s character.
Self identity defines who you
are and what you want to do
then you gain confidence after
knowing yourself. Self identity
is very essential because self
reliance depends upon self
identity.
Self Reliance :
After knowing your true
identity and gaining enough
confidence you become self
reliant.This play , The twelve
pound look also gave us the
idea that one can rely on his or
her judgement. According to
emerson,it's better to trust
yourself.
Women decision making
power :
This play also highlights the
woman decision making power
and the determination of the
women to fight for her pride.
Sometime your pride is worth
fighting for .As we have
analyse from the character of
kate woman should have to
fight for their pride ,women
should have the freedom to do
whatever they want to do in
their life,women should have
their point of views.
Empathy: This play also
stresses that their is a great
need of empathy like our
identity actually merges with
other persons and our self
boundary melts away
sometimes we can't sense the
pain we are causing others by
being a personal self or our
ego as we have already seen in
the play from the character of
Harry Sims he had turned
himself into a machine and
lacks empathy .Empathy is
what makes us human.
Influence of one women over
another women:
The play The 12 pounds look
also signifies the role of one
woman to inspire other woman
or the influence of one woman
over another as we can analyse
from the character of Kate she
inspired lady sims to that
extand that at the end of play
we come to know that Lady
Sims was also planning to buy
a typewriter and escape from
her husband towards her
freedom.
Conclusion:
Last but not the least every
time a woman stands up for
herself without knowing it
possibly without claiming it
she stands up for all woman.
