Week 2 Discussion

I learned that the college is the country's most diverse educational facility. The student

body of the school represents 167countries and sixty-three dialects worldwide. The school's eight

campuses and outreach centers provide more than three hundred different degree paths, including

baccalaureate and associate degrees, professional apprenticeships and certificates. The library

instruction illustrates that the baccalaureate degree provisions entail film, physician assistant

studies, nursing, management and supervision, public safety, education, information systems

technology, biological sciences, data analytics, and engineering, among others. Miami Dade

College happens to be the recipient of several top awards in the country, with the Aspen Prize

among them. It is a democratic institution that transforms lives through learning experiences,

high-quality teaching and learning, and accessibility (Miami Dade College). The library

instruction also points out that the college is the foundation of several other institutions. These

institutions include the New World School of the Arts, the Innovation and Simulation, the Center

for Learning, the School for Advanced Learning, the Miami Fashion Institute, and the Idea

Center, among others.

I will use the knowledge obtained from the library to benefit from the class and other

classes moving forward in numerous ways. The knowledge will primarily help differentiate

between the myths and realities regarding the school. For instance, People think that the

institution offers more accessible online classes concerning face-to-face classes. However, the

knowledge has helped me understand that the courses are challenging because they need learners

to utilize writing abilities, college-level reading, time management, and organizational skills to

accomplish school tasks.
