Nearly a century after Charles Darwin wrote about the wildlife
of the Galápagos islands, a group of German homesteaders saw
the island of Floreana as a new Eden, a tropical paradise where
they could escape a troubled world.

Word of their success travelled, however, and soon other


settlers began to arrive. Some came to join in the paradise,
some to seek adventure, some to get rich.

But Floreana is a small island, and competition for the limited


resources means not everyone can get what they want. Like
the Biblical Eden, this paradise cannot last forever...
