At Buckinghamshire County Council, current workforce standards will not fulfil the criterion or
challenge of the core standard Act 2000. They also had problems working with children and
families, as well as recruitment, which resulted in staff quitting the company. They also devised
a new work force strategy with representatives from child and family social services. They were
also aiming for a scarcity of skills. They are currently dealing with them in a novel manner. The
strategy featured both immediate and long-term goals. The short-term plan focuses on
recruitment and promotion, while the long-term plan encompasses all of the actions that will be
carried out over the next five years.

For several departments inside the company, the trust had a multidisciplinary staff. The
managers were taught a six-step methodology for personnel planning. These were the six steps:
1. Establish the strategy.
2. Changes to the Map Service.
3. Determine the number of people who will be needed.
4. Be aware of the workforce's availability.
5. Make a plan to get the people you need.
6. Use the monitor and repeat method.
They were asked to establish plans for the next two years, one year, and five years using this
framework. This will assess the manager's ability to plan the staff. This diagram shows some of
the outcomes, such as workforce planning, which is now a part of day-to-day operations, greater
knowledge of financial positions, age profiles, and workforce risk assessment, among others.
