What is the objective of your project
What components of your shipping container fit the need: reduces bottle and can
pollution, increases access to recycling bins, encourages the prevention of
pollution in the environment
What are the needs of the community: A place to return bottles to clean up the
streets and to reduce the amount of reusable bottles thrown in the trash
Include : access to waste bins, scale, cash register, 5 workers/volunteers, portable
or set bathroom and sink with clean water, transportation services, washing
station, alternative easy ups for weather complications
Access to water, shade, internet access, rest rooms etc-
Provide 2 sources from your research for why the project
fulfills a need in the community
1.Melissa Hamilton: “Yes there are too many bottles that should be recycled”
One container will be open for the entrance and will be cut on the side
The second container one will be used for storing and transporting out the bottles.
We will ship out the container every Sunday when our bottle bank isn’t open
What other materials are needed:
Scale, Cash Register, and easy ups for weather complications
We will also form a relationship with the Walmart that we plan to put our containers next to, so they will
allow us access to use put our containers in that location and to use their bathrooms for our workers. We
will also confirm with them that we can use a portion of their parking spaces.
