OUR TEETH = ‘Our fist teeth are called milk teeth. By the time we are three years old, we have got twenty milk teeth, | When we are about six years old, we start to lose our milk teeth. New teeth push the milk teeth up until they loosen and fall out. We call these new teeth adult or permanent teeth. if we look after them, we can keep them all our lives. Adults have got 32 teeth in all. Four of them, wisdom teeth, do not grow until we are between 18 and 25 years old. Teeth have got two parts: 1. the crown the part of the tooth in our mouth. 2, the root - the part of the tooth in our jawbone. The crown of the tooth is covered with enamel. This protects our teeth and is the hardest substance in our body.
