Descriptive Text

Descriptive text adalah teks yang bertujuan untuk menjelaskan, menggambarkan, atau
mendeskripsikan sesuatu. Sesuatu di sini bentuknya bisa berupa apa saja, baik itu
orang, hewan, benda, lokasi, dan sebagainya.

Person : The color of the skin, hair, eyes, height, weigh, character.

Fungsi Descriptive Text

Descriptive text memiliki dua fungsi yaitu:

 Mendeskripsikan atau menggambarkan tentang sesuatu

 Memberikan penjelasan terhadap sesuatu secara detail. 

Ciri-Ciri Descriptive Text

Kamu dapat mengenali descriptive text karena memiliki beberapa ciri-ciri berikut: 

 Menggunakan simple present tense

 Fokus pada satu objek dan mendeskripsikannya secara spesifik.

Struktur Descriptive Text

Struktur descriptive text dibagi menjadi 2 bagian, yaitu identification (identifikasi)

dan description (deskripsi).

Identification

Identification adalah pengenalan atau penggambaran umum mengenai objek atau

topik yang akan dibahas. Pada bagian ini mengandung pengenalan tentang siapa,
dimana, atau benda apakah yang akan di deskripsikan

Contoh:

Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov or usually known as Khabib

Nurmagomedov is my inspirational figure. He was born on 20 September 1988. He is
a Russian former professional mixed martial artist. He competed in the Ultimate
Fighting Championship (UFC). With 29 wins and no losses, he retired with an
undefeated record.

Description
Description merupakan bagian yang menjelaskan secara detail mengenai objek yang
telah diperkenalkan di bagian identification. Penjelasan ini bisa berupa ciri khas,
tampilan, jumlah, sifat, dan sebagainya.

Contoh:

Khabib Nurmagomedov has an athletic body with the height of 177 centimeters and
weight 70 kilogram. His skin color is white to yellow with bearded face and has black
hair. He has small eyes and the color is black. He is very kind and calm. It is not the
only good thing that I like from him, he is also humble and family man.
